14 Apr Nashville to Host National Cancer Survivors Day! Are You Ready?
Come and join the celebration and fun at National Cancer Survivors Day in downtown Nashville! Festivities will take place on Sunday, June 7th. This will be the 28th National Cancer Survivors Day, an annual, treasured Celebration of Life, held in hundreds of communities nationwide.
It is a CELEBRATION for those who have survived, an INSPIRATION for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of SUPPORT for families, and an OUTREACH to the community. On this amazing day, thousands will gather across the globe to honor cancer survivors and to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be inspiring. And NASHVILLE is the perfect place to celebrate!
National Cancer Survivors Day is for everyone whose life has been affected by cancer, whether survivor, family member, friend, or medical professional. It provides an opportunity for all people living with a history of cancer – including America’s more than 14 million cancer survivors – to connect with one another, celebrate milestones, as well as to recognize those who have supported them along the way. It is also a day to draw attention to the ongoing challenges of cancer survivorship in order to promote more resources, research, and survivor-friendly legislation to improve cancer survivors’ quality of life.
SURVIVORville’s National Cancer Survivors Day will feature our 3rd annual Celebrate SURVIVORS 5K Walk/Run, SURVIVORS Square with vendor booths galore, and – in Nashville style -a Salute to SURVIVORS Concert on our downtown Main Stage!
PLEASE NOTE: This is the Sunday prior to CMA Week in Nashville and hotel rooms are scarce. However, there is a DISCOUNTED ROOM BLOCK available to all racers/walkers at Gaylord Opryland Resort (16 minutes from the starting line) where you will also pick up your race bibs in advance of the race.
